  1. Why have prices changed?

By updating our prices globally, PMI can provide more equitable opportunities for professionals to learn project management skills. This is the first step in a long-term initiative to improve price parity for professionals.

  1. How did you determine pricing in this new model?

We used economic data identified by World Bank, as well as other economic factors, to determine prices based on location.

 

  1. Will I be able to purchase PMI solutions in my local currency?

Not yet. Local currency is currently limited to USD, INR, and BRL and will be expanding in the future to additional currencies.

 

  1. How is my location determined?

Your location is determined by the registration country selected upon the creation of your myPMI account.

  1. If I move, can my registration country be changed?

Yes, this process remains the same as before. Please contact PMI Customer Care to change your country of registration.

 

  1. Why is my peer in [insert country] paying a better price for [membership, certification, online courses, etc.]?

Like many global organizations, PMI proactively assesses barriers to entry for our community members around the world using global economic data. By updating our prices globally using this data, PMI can provide more equitable opportunities for professionals to learn project management skills. This is the first step in a long-term initiative to improve price parity for professionals.

 

  1. What if I work in [insert country] but permanently reside in [insert country]?

Your location is determined by the registration country selected upon the creation of your myPMI account.

  1. Do you expect to update prices again soon? How often will location-based pricing change? This is the first step in a long-term initiative to improve price parity. Pricing will be assessed on an ongoing basis.

 

  1. If I move countries, how do I update my country to reflect pricing in my new location? If you move to a new country, please update your address in your myPMI profile by contacting Customer Care.
  1. I am an ATP and/or reseller organization. Why were my prices not lowered?

PMI is initiating location-based pricing to provide more equitable opportunities for professionals around the world to learn project management skills. ATPs and/or resellers can reach out directly to their account manager for further questions.

  1. How does location-based pricing affect the cost of Chapter Membership?

Location-based pricing will not affect the price of Chapter Membership. Each PMI chapter sets their own prices annually for Chapter Membership, and this change will not affect that cost.

  1. How does location-based pricing affect the Chapter Guest Pass program?

Location-based pricing will not affect the use of Chapter Guest Pass codes. We have made an effort to provide chapters a new batch of Chapter Guest Pass Codes for 2023 prior to the new year. Please note that 2022 codes will deactivate on 31 Dec 2022 at 11:59pm EST and 2023 codes will become active 1 Jan 2023 at 12am EST.

 

  1. You claim that location-based pricing will reduce barriers for professionals to transact with PMI but it’s still too expensive for many people in my country.

PMI made determinations on location-based pricing based upon economic data identified by World Bank, as well as other economic factors.
